If your NetDocuments account is setup to use Workspaces, you will see the workspace section on the left navigation pane. It will be called something like Matters, Properties, Projects, etc. When workspaces are defined, it provides a consolidated view for all documents, email, etc related to a specific Matter, Properties, etc. based on the setup of the cabinet by your Administrator.
The workspaces are based on a table of values which has been setup by your Administrator. You can search for a workspace by finding a specific value from the defined table. You are provided two lists of workspaces – one that contains the last 40 workspaces you have accessed and the other containing up to 350 workspaces that you have placed in the list by clicking the favorite star adding it to your "Favorite" list.
Workspaces are shared by those users who have access to it and the default format is setup by your Administrator. Users who can access a workspace, can generally also modify it realizing that since it is a shared view, it will modify it for all users.
You can go to a workspace to browse for documents and email related to that workspace. You can also search for documents and email related to a workspace by going to the workspace and using the quick search to find documents in the workspace. You can also search using the Advanced Search and enter the criteria you choose. This search allows you to also search for documents and email outside of a specific workspace.
Cabinet folders can still exist when using workspaces, but you should consult your Administrator to learn how or if they are being used in your cabinet design.
